Recce is a military term that has been borrowed by the media in the United Kingdom, derived from "reconniter", the verb from of "reconnaissance". it is a pre-production visit to a location to work out its suitability for filming/photography, including access to necessary facilities, assessment of any potential lighting or sound issues and risk and hazard assessments.
